Description
Far superior to overlap sheds on the market, this shed won't just last longer than an overlap shed it will last much longer.
With almost twice the thickness of wall timber and much better quality timber the Shire shiplap 8 x 6 double door shed is without doubt great value for money.
This Shire Warwick shiplap shed represents amazing value and is great for bikes, lawnmowers or whatever else you need to store. It has one opening window for maximum brightness inside and double doors for easy entry that are ledged for extra strength.
All the timber from Shire sheds is from sustainable sources, so that you can feel good about buying this shed. Shire garden buildings are made from a high grade ship-lap tongue and groove construction. This is distinguished from fast grown type timber used on cheaper sheds from other manufactures.
Tongue and groove construction means the building is better sealed from the elements. The timber used is a continental slow grown timber. Slower grown timber means tighter grain, extra strength and longer life.
Optional Shed Base
Installing a shed on soil or grass isn't ideal, but this base allows it. Use a heavy-duty weed membrane underneath. This quick and easy solution provides a solid base without the cost of concrete or slabs. Made from 44mm x 70mm pressure-treated wood with deep preservative penetration, the base is suitable for lawns or firm soil. Adjustable base spikes (up to 100mm) are included. Simply screw the timbers and attach spikes for a sturdy, elevated base that keeps damp away. Order this base from the 'Choose Additional Options' section above.
Framework: A robust planed 34x34mm (1 1/2' x 1 1/2') framework (walls and floor) that gives the building strength.
Floor: The floor is constructed from 8mm Oriented Strand Board (OSB).
Roof: The roof is constructed from 11mm Oriented Strand Board (OSB) with included roofing felt.
Walls: The walls are constructed using high quality 12mm thick softwood planed tongue and groove shiplap pattern boarding.
Doors: Double doors which are ledged for extra strength.
Windows: These are properly morticed and tenoned. They are opening, profiled, and weather resistant. The window has a unique profiled 'lip' that covers the aperture of the opening in the panel making it weather resistant. Casement stays have 2 levels of opening. The glazing is 3mm horticultural glass which many other manufacturers do not use as standard. All glazing is retained by profiled beading which is pre-mitred (no awkward corners to be cut).
