Description
Colour
Inspired by the stone found in the West Country quarries near Doutling, this shade has a fresh feeling. Undertones of a deep honey yellow run through this bright and welcoming Wood Paint from Thorndown, which make it the perfect versatile shade for your garden. Much like the stone used to build the historic Wells Cathedral, Doulting Stone has warm undertones that will help brighten up any space.
Important: White and off-white colours may take up to 3 coats to produce a fully solid colour coating. You may want to apply a stain-blocking primer as these colours are more susceptible to dark tannin stains and resin bleeds.
Features
Thorndown are colour specialists, creating paints that are of the highest quality. With its delicate satin finish, Thorndown paints provide vibrancy in colour whilst still maintaining the beauty of the natural grain. Their paints can be applied to hardwood or softwood, as well as a range of metal and plastic surfaces, and will last from anywhere between three and five years. A unique feature of Thorndown's formula is the ease in which it can be mixed to create personalised colours, and the ability to dilute any paint at a 1:1 ratio to transform it into a wood stain. With Thorndown, you do not need to use any preparatory products, just apply to dry, sanded timber. The paint provides a protective water-resistant layer against the elements, helping seal against mould, rot, fungus and weathering. The microporous coating also prevents moisture from being trapped inside, as it is a breathable coat.
By using Thorndown paint, you are also providing UV protection which slows the natural fading of the colour. The paints are water-based, and are environmentally friendly with a low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) rating and low odour, and are safe around animals and children. The paint will be touch dry within two hours in normal weather conditions, the drying can be slowed by adding water.

Important Note on Colour
Although the colour we show with each product is as close as possible to how it will look when painted on timber, there will be variations in colour interpretation on different screens (computer screens, tablet devices, mobile phones etc.) and printing processes may slightly alter the colours. Because of this, the colour you see on your screen, or even if you print out our product information page, may vary from how the colour of the treatment appears in reality. Final colour, when painted, may also be affected by the timber that your paint is applied to (pale softwood as opposed to dark hardwood, for example) and could be affected if you are over-coating previous treatments. If you have any doubts, sample pots are available or you can visit elbec’s showsite where we can show you samples of the whole colour range applied to wooden swatches.
