This extra size is indispensable, and allows for a set of double doors that make coming and going from the Balance a more enjoyable affair.

This Silver model comes with a natural aluminium frame that creates clean and metallic lines throughout the structure. The Silver is popular among those who want the classic garden greenhouse look, but some customers may want to opt for a powder-coated finish, available in Green.

Features

A combination of transparent glazing for the walls and a 'frosted' twin-wall glazing for the roof panels are used to help produce the balanced environment needed for optimum growth. On one hand, transparent polycarbonate walls give clarity to the plants inside and have the classic greenhouse look. Meanwhile, twin-wall panels offer a greater degree of sun diffusion that creates a more even temperature for plants. Plants that may otherwise be in the shade for too long in a daily cycle will enjoy additional sunlight. Other spots in the greenhouse that have a habit of overheating and damaging plants will have a reduction in harsh and direct sunlight.

What makes the 8x12 Palram Balance Silver truly special is its expanded width of eight feet compared to Palram's more compact models. This allows for a set of double doors, which are optimal for easy access when transporting large plants or equipment. A low threshold doorway in contrast to the rest of the galvanised steel base makes it easy to enter by wheelchair or push through barrows of soil. 

The Balance keeps to the traditional and trusted greenhouse design of an apex roof, prioritising headspace for the full length of the structure. With a peak interior height of over seven feet, you are unlikely to need to worry about stooping over while tending to plants. This size is also ideal for anyone hoping to grow larger plants, such as tomatoes or strawberry bushes, without bumping up against any limitations. 

To further the control of your greenhouse's temperature and humidity, the 8x12 Balance features two manually adjustable vents in the roof. Simply open this and pin the double doors open with the magnetic door catches included with your greenhouse to create a draft. While not using your greenhouse, these doors can be locked by padlock (not provided).

Accessories

Palram offers a range of possibilities for expanding your greenhouse's practical functions that is seldom seen in ranges at this price range. The Automatic Vent Opener requires no manual adjustment or electrical input to function. A wax cylinder inside the opener expands as the ambient increases to around 12-15 degrees celsius, and in turn causes the vent to start opening, thus cooling your greenhouse. This is an excellent way to maintain a moderate temperature within your 8x12 Balance, with minimal effort. 

Other accessories can help increase your usable space. For example, one of our favourite accessories is the Heavy Duty Shelf Kit, which is easily installed on the wall of your Balance greenhouse and supports up to 40kg weight. Its modular design means you can add as many shelves as you like alongside one another in a seamless manner. This shelf can be easily removed and positioned elsewhere, but those especially concerned with portability might find a lot to love in the freestanding Steel Work Bench, which has two levels to provide ample room for storage, and an adjustable lower shelf.

Additional Information

Customers are expected to assemble their Palram 8x12 Balance Silver at home, and many find it is best to set aside a weekend and get help from a friend or two to have the best experience of putting your Balance together.

Delivery

ALL DELIVERIES ARE DELIVERED TO KERBSIDE OR DRIVEWAY. This product is delivered flat packed, direct to your home and is supplied with a set of instructions to support assembly.

Booking Delivery

Your order will be dispatched by the manufacturer Palram Applications. If you have ordered more than one item, they may arrive at different times.

Our teams are working hard to ensure your order is delivered within the timescale indicated on the product page. For customers in certain areas (e.g. Scotland and Wales) the timescale may be slightly extended. Please note lead times are counted in working days (Monday – Friday) excluding Bank Holidays.

Prior to Delivery

With Palram products, you will be sent two text messages. The first message will inform you that your order is being processed. The second message will be sent closer to the end of the delivery timescale, advising you that your order has been dispatched and will be delivered by one of three couriers (Arrow XL, Panther or DPD).

Please note that both elbec and Palram will be unable to supply any further information on your order during this timescale. 

Upon Delivery

Your order will be delivered kerbside or on your driveway. Due to health and safety, and insurance liabilities, the driver will not be able to take your goods to the back of your property but – upon request – may place the product at the side of the house if there are no access issues. This is to avoid risking damage to your property while delivering to an unsafe location. We will not be able to go through your property.

We recommend against arranging for a third party to install the product before its delivery and checking that all parts are present, and we cannot be held liable for any third-party costs caused by delays.
