Features
A Shire Log Cabin is built to last, and the Belgravia is no exception. Shire uses four-way corner joints and interlocking logs of the highest quality as standard. Boasting excellent eco-credentials, the Cabin is constructed from high grade, slow grown Spruce. This timber, grown in the colder climates of Scandinavia has a tight grain, less sap and far fewer knots. This gives it extra strength, a much longer life and superior build quality. A high-quality timber log cabin starts with high-quality timber, so it is important to know exactly what timber is being used for your log cabin.
Underpinning the outstanding strength of the Cabin is that it has been constructed from individual logs, which provides excellent insulation for the inside. The high quality 14mm thick tongue and groove roof and floor add to the robust feel of the Belgravia, and 34mm x 61mm pressure treated floor bearers ensure a long-lasting building. The Shire draught seal system that is fitted on all external windows and doors provides excellent insulation for the inside, perfect for retaining the heat for those colder months. Optional qualtity Celotex roof and floor insulation can also be included as part of this service. You can opt for 14mm double glazing that adds even more insulation. The doors can be locked securely using the mortise lock and 2 keys are provided, giving you peace of mind when leaving items inside.

Base
We recommend that log cabins are sited on pre-laid, level, solid and dry ground, with a foundation of hardcore, compacted, and concrete to give a stable and even footing for your cabin to sit on. You can request 'Guidelines for Preparing a Concrete Base' through our 'Contact Us' Section. This log cabin is supplied with comprehensive fitting instructions and fixings provided. Two people are required to build.
Optional Assembly Service
We’re pleased to offer the option of booking our dedicated professionals who will assemble your log cabin quickly and correctly. However, you can choose to use the comprehensive instructions included with the log cabin and construct it yourself. The Belgravia, like all Shire Log Cabins, can be dismantled and rebuilt should you ever decide to move, a useful feature when investing in a log cabin.
Creating a stylish log cabin with our Protek Paints
All Shire Log Cabins are supplied untreated. You must apply a wood treatment to the exterior. Shire recommends Protek Royal Exterior wood treatment, available from elbec in many different colours. You can add your personal touch by painting your log cabin in many of the fantastic colours. This will protect the timber from weathering, making it last longer. The timber treatment will need to be repeated in line with the manufacturer's instructions. Protek Royal paint is available from elbec in a wide variety of colours.
