Features
With a sturdy overlap construction, this allows effective water run off and ensures that the interior of your shed and its contents are nicely sealed away from the elements. The shed gets its strength from its 34mm x 34mm framing, a feature you will normally only find on far more expensive products, and this ensures a sturdy building. This framing supports a durable 8mm oriented strand board (OSB) roof which provides great protection to the interior. Weather resistant green mineral felt is included with your shed to ensure the weatherproofing of the roof. It also features 34mm x 34mm thick floor joists supporting a robust 9mm OSB floor, offering protection against rot as well as an impressive load capacity. A generous eaves height combined with the apex roof means that the interior is nice and spacious, allowing you the flexibility to store a real range of different sizes, weights and shapes of objects. Storing items is made even easier by the wide opening double doors, a fantastic feature given that many sheds in this price range only feature a single door. The shed’s contents are protected from theft by being manufactured without windows and a padlockable hasp and staple, (padlock not supplied) meaning you are given extra peace of mind when storing items inside.
About the Timber
You will be impressed by Shire's use of natural products and their environmental credentials. A high quality timber product starts with high quality timber, so it is important to know exactly what timber is being used for your shed. The most commonly used timber for garden buildings is pine (pinus) as this is widely available for a very cheap price, however all of Shire's garden buildings are constructed using high quality spruce (picea) and is sourced from sustainably sourced timber. Spruce is more durable than pine and provides a higher quality finish. This timber is slow grown unlike fast grown British and Eastern Europe's timber, being slow grown timber means a tighter grain, less sap and with far fewer knots. The timber used on Shire's range is therefore a more durable timber that will last much longer than other timbers. Spruce is therefore the timber of choice for companies such as Shire who always look to produce the best garden building.

Additional Details about your Order
This shed supplied pre-treated with a base coat to both sides in a golden brown water based industrial product (colour can vary from the picture shown). Shire recommends that you apply a water based top coat. This will protect the timber from weathering on your shed making it last longer and will need to be repeated accordingly in relation to the manufacturer's instructions. Shire recommends Protek Royal Exterior wood finish, available from elbec in many different colours. This is also a great way to refresh the look of your shed over time or personalise it to your liking.
