Specially designed to be the perfect fit for any garden corner, you can rest assured that a corner shed will allow you to make the most of your available outdoor space. The 7 x 7 is the smallest size of Shire Corner Shed available. This means it has a compact footprint and is therefore suitable for almost any size of garden. Whether you have large items in need of a home, your existing storage spaces are full to bursting, or if you would like a place that is big enough for a home workshop, look no further than the Shire Corner Shed.
Optional Shed Base
Installing a shed on soil or grass isn't ideal, but this base allows it. Use a heavy-duty weed membrane underneath. This quick and easy solution provides a solid base without the cost of concrete or slabs. Made from 44mm x 70mm pressure-treated wood with deep preservative penetration, the base is suitable for lawns or firm soil. Adjustable base spikes (up to 100mm) are included. Simply screw the timbers and attach spikes for a sturdy, elevated base that keeps damp away. Order this base from the 'Choose Additional Options' section above.
Features
The Shire Corner Shed has a number of features that show its quality. It is designed to fit snugly in almost any garden corner without wasting any of your outdoor space. It gets its strength from robust 34mm x 34mm framework, ensuring a sturdy shed that will stand up to the test of time. Further stability and durability is added by its walls, which are constructed from 12mm thick shiplap tongue and groove boarding. This not only ensures a robust construction, but also makes sure the interior is nicely sealed away from the elements. The quality of the Shire Corner is really shown by its tongue and groove floor and roof. This not only ensures that you have a nicely weatherproof roof and a robust floor capable of withstanding heavy loads, but you are given extra protection against rot and damp. You will struggle to find quality tongue and groove flooring on most sheds in this price bracket.
The Shire Corner also features two opening windows. These allow in plenty of natural light as well as cool air when opened, especially useful in the warmer months. This also makes the interior a pleasant place to spend your time and gives you the flexibility to use it as a workshop. The windows are properly mortised and tenoned and have a unique, profiled lip that covers the opening in the panel, making the shed even more weather resistant. They are glazed in horticultural glass for long lasting clarity. The wide opening double doors allow easy access to your shed and make taking even the largest items in and out a breeze. These doors are ledged and feature a padbolt for extra strength and security (padlock not supplied.) This fantastic shed is protected by a 10 year anti-rot guarantee, so you can be certain you are purchasing a shed that will last.
About the Timber
You will be impressed by Shire's use of natural products and their environmental credentials. A high quality timber shed starts with high quality timber, so it is important to know exactly what timber is being used. The most commonly used timber for garden buildings is pine (pinus) as this is widely available for a very cheap price, however all of Shire's garden buildings are constructed using high quality spruce (picea) and is sourced from sustainably sourced timber. Spruce is more durable than pine and provides a higher quality finish. This timber is slow grown unlike fast grown British and Eastern Europe's timber, being slow grown timber means a tighter grain, less sap and with far fewer knots. The timber used on Shire's products is therefore a more durable timber that will last much longer than other timbers. Spruce is therefore the timber of choice for companies such as Shire who always look to produce the best garden building.
